60 years ago on 26 April 1954 Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai premiered in Japan, it was the most expensive domestic production ever. The film then went out under the title of "The Magnificent Seven", 1956 (Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn,etc). Nineteenth century Japan vs a town on the frontier.
